Something Wierd About Me!!!

Jolly tagged me and I was made to think about myself in a weird manner for a while to write something weird about me.

Hmmm...

Rules and regulations copy pasted.

So here’s how the tag goes…
1. Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog. - Done
2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself. - Wait till you reach the end of the rules - Done
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. – Will do some time later :)
4. Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. NA

Here are the seven weird facts about me:

1. During college days I used to watch movies back to back and then come back home to watch another movie on TV, straining my eyes for the day. This fact is somewhat similar to Jolly...

2. While painting a bottle of wine in the drawing class my friend started teasing me ‘PK’. That was the first time I was called PK. Now the bottle is open :)

3. I tried reading "Seven Habits of Effective People" but it’s still lying on the shelf.

4. Sometimes I google myself during free time.

5. My favourite hobby was painting, now which has taken the form of photography. And I take pictures even during crossing the road :)

6. I study the most while traveling in a crowded train.

7. And finally, I took seven days to complete this tag :)

What if...

What if the doctors are charging exorbitant fees as their consultancy fees? It’s better to start considering the fees as a penalty for not taking care of our health instead of cursing them after our recovery.

This will reduce the unnecessary stress caused after recovery from the sickness. But one should take care that he/she is not getting tricked. Also this would make us more responsible for our self.

Still Migrating for Migration

This time I was very more conscious than before considering the probabilities of events that could occur in the process of obtaining the signature of the principal on the migration form.

I planned to go to the college at 11.00 am after confirming the presence of the principal in the college. The clerk picked up the phone and he confirmed that the principal is available till 5.00 pm. I quickly packed my bag with all the necessary documents and once again started my journey to Dombivli.

I reached college by 2.00 pm after the lunch time. I directly went into the office to meet the principal but he was in a meeting. I was told to wait till he is thru with the meeting.

Before taking signature I had to take the stamp of the college having principals name on it. I requested for one from the office but they bluntly refused and directed me to the examination department. In the examination department the HOD again redirected me to the office saying that it was not their responsibility. On explaining the whole situation I was able to convince him. Finally he redirected me towards his assistant to get the stamp. I went to him but this guy again directed me to the HOD giving an excuse that he does not have sufficient rights to put the stamp. I felt as if I was a tennis ball in the tennis court. Finally I requested HOD to personally give him the permission to put the college stamp on the form.

The game was not yet ove. I had to wait for about an hour for the principal. During this one hour I had to keep track of the principal (as informed by the one of the staff member) since as soon as the meeting gets over he may leave for the day.

Finally the meeting was over and I met him in the gangway and requested for his signature on the form. He called me up in the cabin which was somewhere in the first level of the second building. I pointed out to him where his signature is required on the form. But he nodded with a disagreement and told me that the stamp should be authenticated with proper verification. Now I had to run back to the exam section for the signature of approval. But they declined with an explanation that how could they authenticate if the leaving certificate was provided by the office. I was again standing in front of the office for the signature of approval. I convinced them why signature should be authenticated from the office and they provided with one after checking out my original documents.

I ran back to the second building to the principal’s cabin to find his door locked. I could not imagine going back home without the work done. After the ‘tennis’ game I started playing ‘hide and seek’ which made me remember my school days. I asked some of the students and the professors about his where about but they could not help me out. Finally one of our electronic professors was able to help me out with his where about. And at 5.00p.m I got his signature on the form. I returned home with a content smile on my face.

The next Saturday I submitted the application form with all the attested documents to the university at the migration counter.

And they flatly rejected the application saying that they require principal’s signature on the photocopied leaving certificate too which was neither written on the notice board nor on the form. I tried convincing them by showing my original documents but in vain. The university made me remember the ‘snake and the ladder game’ which was played by me during my primary school education.

I don’t know which more games I will be made to recollect during the course of getting the certificate.

And am still migrating for migration…

Migrating for Migration…

The day had finally come when I had to submit the migration certificate in the college (Migration certificate is required when you change university for further studies). Some of my friends in college had already obtained the certificate after running from pillar to post. And I had taken a vow that I would keep no loopholes in my process of obtaining the certificate so that I need not repeat any of the activity.

I started collecting information by calling each one of my friends and personally asked about the procedure to obtain the certificate. This certificate needs to be submitted in the present college or else admission is cancelled or results are with held. All data required to obtain a certificate was now embedded in my mind. I photocopied all my original mark sheet and leaving certificate from the last attended college and packed my bag with all the documents.

Since my college was no where near, my mother packed water bottle and some snacks for my long journey (Kandivli to Dombivli) as if I am going for a one day trip. I took an extension ticket from the station and started heading towards the platform to board a train.

The heat was taking the sweat out of me this winter. Now I could probably take a lecture on global warming.

I had my headphones on and was little excited to reach college after 3 long years. I was confident enough with all the document nicely set in my bag.

The only thing I had to do was to take my principal’s signature from the college on the form which needs to be submitted to the Mumbai University with proper authentication of the mark sheets and leaving certificates.

The challenging part for me was to reach college before lunch time and get the signature or else wait for an hour. Traveling is what I don’t get fed up off so easily and was enjoying the central local train breeze.

On reaching Dombivli I had to take a rickshaw to reach college which is far off again from the station. Finally got down near college and started walking towards it. There was a complete change of structure on the barren land surrounding the college and as a rule I started taking photo sessions. There was a huge construction coming up near the college and a lot of visible changes in the campus could be noticed. But the staff was the same with no knowledge of migration certificate. It took me 10 minutes to explain why it is required and what the college has to do.

After all the explanation round, I was told bluntly to come on Tuesday as the principal was on leave and I started using my return journey ticket to Kandivli not enjoying the journey this time.

Migration to be continued…

CTR + ALT + DEL

The three keys which we use daily during our encounters with computers are CTR + ALT + DEL. These three keys come to our rescue before we call out our system administrator. We fiddle with process, check where our resources are used up by the application. We decide on to close some of the application and the one which has made our machine vulnerable to frequent break ups. We just end the process. And then there we are with some relief and the work process starts smoothly again.

In the same manner at times, there comes problem in our life which we find it difficult to resolve. Out life gets miserable due to pressure in life. The best solution again lies with CTR + ALT +DEL keys to resolve it. First we should keep track of the problems which come our way and keep a control (CTR) on our activity so that it does not affect our life. If this does not work, Use the ALT key i.e. find an alternate way or a solution to tackle the problem, and if the problem still persists then delete (DEL) the problem i.e. delete the root cause of the problem.

Finally CTR + ALT + DEL is what we need to apply to our daily life.

Patterned Keystrokes

It is believed keeping different password for all our logins in internet banking, social networking, mails and blog is safer. We need password to login into our own computer. This requires us to remember passwords for every login we make during the day.

Daily we reach office and login into the computer flawlessly. Again we login into our mailbox with a different password. But if someday we need to write our password on a piece of paper or save it in some other medium like mobile for our reference, we tend to forget the password.

What is it that makes us type flawlessly the password on a keyboard? Is it that we remember or it's the pattern of the keystroke that we remember while logging into the system or any net banking site. Remembering a password requires our brain activity while remembering our keystrokes is also a part of the brain activity.

There is always less effort required to repeat any activity at a given time. Like brushing our teeth is a natural process we are habituated after we get up from a long sleep. Hence we can brush our teeth even while we are half asleep on the sofa and we know how to stroke the brush and clean our teeth at times.

The same way we start typing password using positioning of the keys on the keyboards. Everything is registered in the brain. The day we are away for a while on a vacation for some days without having access to PC we struggle with the keyboard to get the password.

Now this is not the case with every one as everyone has his own style of remembering things. But the day I understood that there are people around me with similar characteristics, I couldn't stop myself writing this post.

So the next time you type password, think if you are actually remembering the password or just recollecting the pattern of keystrokes…

Anything to write

When we don't have anything to write we have the right to change the template to white and light to make it cool in the color of blue.

And when it has finally changed write a piece of word to get the visitors coming or else there is peace which are not the keys for a blog to grow.

Solitude

Sometimes we are in a state of mind which we cannot define.

We share our thoughts and feelings with our friends but still are not sure about the feeling which bothers us. We want to come out of the feeling but we are still in its clutches.

One feels isolated from the world even if he/she is socially active. One is worried about the feeling he/she is undergoing but is unable to overcome it.

There is a way out to everything. Sometimes it takes more time while sometimes it just passes away.

Efforts need to be taken to come out of the solitude else it takes a toll of our life.

Decision

Making a choice is actually taking a decision.

It’s a conclusion we come upon after thinking a lot. When there is a choice we have to think and then come to a solution. It’s a position we reach after considering all the factors. It’s the likeness, love or the commitment which we consider while taking a decision.

After considering the entire factors we make a choice but then there is one more important thing that is sustaining the decision to acquire the choice we made.

Decision making is yet another important factor in life.

Choice

Making a choice in life decides our very next step in life.

Peter Parker in Spiderman 3: No matter what comes our way. No matter what battle we have raging inside of us, we always have a choice. My friend Harry taught me that. He chose to be the best of himself. Our choices are what make us who we are. And we always have the choice to do what’s right.

Choice is about ones sacrifice; the decision that leads to another decision. At a given point of time there could be "n" number of choice for a situation. Some choices could be difficult to take and some could be the easiest way to acquire. Each one of us is different and our choice differs from person to person. Our choice decides the next step.

I made a choice long back by opening an account in blogspot…Now I cannot open an account in Wordpress as there is already someone by my name registered in Wordpress.

No choice left...

The Dark Side...

There are always two sides to everything as of a coin.

The dark side is what everyone is afraid off and wants to hide. There is always head to a tail.Sometimes one side overpowers the other side. If the evil side i.e. the dark side grows it leads to destruction of others and oneself. Most of the time one is unaware of the dark side and continues to stay with it.

The dark side is not just about negative deeds but also about the belief one is following. If people start believing on wrong things then darkness grows and in the darkness people start losing themselves. To see the darkness some explore the dark side deliberately and then struggle to come to the light.

Getting stuck in the dark side needs immediate attention which if not taken care of leads one to explore the dark side of life and it’s very difficult to come to the light.

It’s ones personal choice to stay with the dark or the light.

Restrictions

If ever we think of the rules and regulations in the society there is lot more to it than just few bulleted points. We have the democracy of freedom but this is governed by the rules and it has to be or else it would go out of control.

When these rules are not accepted by the society then it is considered as restrictions by some. Restrictions are nothing but things which we are not allowed doing. These rules are formed by the society or the organization. Now let’s forget about rules and think for a while in terms of people view who considers it as a restriction to something. A restriction to something is depriving some body of his freedom of expressions or in short, his democracy. It could be sometimes daunting. This leads to searching for new techniques and ways to overcome the restriction.

Now this will lead to conflicting situations in ones life. He tries to find ways to overcome the restriction by a way to make way to his activity. This leads to new discoveries and new things are invented.

When this happens the society actually grows technically and logically. But this sometimes exceeds the harm which the society has to bare due to some people for their own benefit. This will automatically pave way to stricter solutions to tackle such a kind of situations. Now both the party has challenges in front of them. One who is trying to overcome the restriction and the other who is trying to restrict. This gradually leads to stricter solutions to such malpractices.

What if there are no restrictions? Will the society or the organization stop growing to the extent it is growing now? Considering the fact that no rules will affect the society in other way...

emotionally controlled

Emotions are feelings that are generated by our mental state at a given point of time. It is a spontaneous reaction to situations which fills us with joy, sorrow or fear. It could be feeling of love or hatred. In short, it is what we are made of…

Sometimes emotions could be negative and sometimes positive. Many things in life are controlled by emotions. Tears in the eyes of our loved ones make our eyes moist and we start to control it either by overcoming the emotions or mixing some other feelings with the situation to make it sober for them.

Love is a feeling towards the person we care. If there is no control over love towards someone then sometimes it grows to such an extent that people cannot accept rejection in love and get negative emotions which leads to crime to others (murder) or one self (suicide). Such kind of emotion deviates one from the actual route.

There are other larger aspects of life where people play with emotions on a large scale. The people in film industry are actually displaying their talents and they indirectly play with the emotions of the people. The scripts and the situation in the movies directly reflect to our lives and we start relating and reacting with our own sense of emotions. The marketing people out there display their talents in advertising theme of the movies in such a way that people actually get into the theatres. Then it’s up to the director who plays with people emotions to make a movie work.

Even during getting votes from people it’s basically the people emotions associated with a party. In marketing world people interact with people to get the business moving. But this won’t work if it’s not from the heart and only done to get the work done.

Negative or excess emotions needs to be controlled which is basic fact of life. The whole world is emotionally controlled but if this is not a controlled one then it could lead to wrong deed.

Page 123 of "five point someone"

I am completely naïve to this bloggers tag and was only familiar with this tag until I was tagged by gaizabonts. If I start writing on this I could only do one thing and that is cheating for I have not read a book for a long time. The only book which I borrowed from my cousin in an attempt to read was the “five point someone” which is lying unattended in my cupboard. I had read only the first chapter and now page no: 123.

Here are the fifth, sixth, seventh, eight and ninth sentences from page number 123 of "five point someone" book.

Actually, the life Alok's mother led at home intrigued me. Somehow, her clutching her sari to wipe her tears had been the only image I had been stuck with for the past year but now I realized she had a life too. The challenges she faced were not quite lube research proposals, but pricey tomatoes nonetheless.

"And you know the sofa springs are coming out..." she was saying when Alok interrupted her.

"Mom, Can you please keep quiet.

My ten words...
We forget to understand the feelings of our loved ones.

Sugar - Sweet or Bitter ?

We were on our way to Shani Shignapur to take blessing from Shani God. Our Maruti halted at its destined location for refreshment. I was thrilled to see sugarcane juice extracted using animal power. Juice was extracted by making the cow move round the wooden rollers which crushed the sugarcane. We had a refreshing sugarcane juice.

The juice did refresh me but then I felt, how monotonous it was for the animal to move round the rollers for the whole day and then get a hit on the back for every increase in demand for juice from the people.

Sugar may be sweet and refreshing for us but bitter for them.

How to quit smoking?

“Winners never quit and quitters never win.”
                                     -- Vince Lombardi

This is not true always. It all depends on what is quit.

There are lots of reasons for smoking and very less for quitting smoking. If ever one needs the reason to quit smoking one can think of following:

  1. Just read the Statutory Warning “Smoking is Injurious to Health” on the cigarette packet and think why should I smoke?
  2. Watch the others smoke and start thinking why should I be a copycat?
  3. If ever there is craving for smoking, think of the smoke emitted by the vehicle.
  4. Never quit smoking for reason someone near and dear but for oneself, because when one is hurt he/she gets a reason to smoke.
  5. If there is post on how to quit smoking ignore it and stop such post by quitting smoking.

If nothing of the above works then let’s check Other Sides Now for smoking.

How to smoke quietly?
  1. Keep a match box or a lighter handy (not in the pocket).
  2. While going for a smoke take only friends who smoke.
  3. Smoke away from public places. This ensures minimum people staring at you.
  4. If at all any friends come to you while smoking just keep the cigarette aside and start abusing the person who left the cigarette there.
  5. If ever you think of smoking again read the above post "How to quit Smoking".

These are the some ways to QUIeTly smoke/ING…considering Both Sides Now.

31st December is the day when everyone plans for the night to welcome the New Year.

People remain awake the whole night. They join New Year party and then return back to their nest around mid night or probably in the morning to sleep and wake up in the afternoon. SMS, calls are all jammed pack for these occasions. Everywhere there are wishes for New Year through cell phones, landline and SMS. There are recorded wishes from the celebrities on various TV channels flashing in every five minutes. Everyone is in the party mood dancing all the way. There are traffic jams on the way back home at night. Some are drunk and stranded at places. Police are on the roll to witness and catch hold off any illegal activities going on during night.

A very different kind of mood is set only to welcome New Year.

A New Year has come as a new beginning for all. New Year brings along with it new expectations, new challenges, new hope and new goals.

And today January 01, 2007, the beginning of a New Year we get the zeal to start off with something new.

Happy and Prosperous New Year!
